CONSEQUENCES PROJECT explores importance of sharing, questioning how we relate to each other in the current digital era where technology has become a substitute for face-to-face conversations. Social media are at present the biggest sharing platforms, that reconnect us with sharing in the physical world. It’s all down to how we use technology, and how we can make the most of it without losing ourselves.
Street art has become one of the most dynamic and democratic forms of sharing in the physical space, while it is simultaneously using the digital space as a platform for sharing with communities worldwide, finding a balance between physical and digital worlds and maximising both forms of interaction.
Using this as a point of departure, 10 international street artists were invited to gather under the same roof in London to collaborate on something unique. The artworks were made following the old “game of consequences” criteria. Two or more artists each created a piece of work and passed it on to the next artist, who would then add to the work without having seen what the previous artist had created. Each of the sections were covered as every new artist added their contribution to the work. Now that the sections are complete the final pieces will be revealed for the first time.
